Who can join?

This game jam is open to anyone aged 18+. No previous game development experience is required, just a willingness to engage with the themes and get creative!

We welcome and encourage participation from:

• all genders, races, ethnicities, religions and abilities.
• people who have lived experience as a family caregiver, care worker, or someone who receives care.
• experienced game developers and creators.
• artists, storytellers and creatives interested in applying their skills to games.
• folks with outstanding commitments such as work or school. Participants are able to work on their own schedule, and we recommend participants working with others communicate their availability upfront so teams can properly plan their project.

In registering for this event, all participants must agree to adhere to our **Code of Conduct.**

What is a Sensitivity consultant?

If you have expertise in care issues but don’t want to make a game, consider joining Care Jam 2021 as a paid sensitivity consultant. Sensitivity consultants are on hand throughout the game jam to support teams with care narratives, ensuring that the games are inclusive and representative. Where does it take place?

Care Jam 2021 will be hosted online via Itch.io and Discord.

Final game projects must be submitted via Itch.io. The Itch page will go live closer to the game jam’s commencement.

All communications before, during, and after the event will be facilitated on Discord, where you’ll find more resources on care, game creation and find teammates. Hope to see you there!
