What is Code Coven?

Code Coven is the first global award-winning games industry accelerator for underrepresented talent. Our mission is to elevate marginalised voices and increase representation at all levels within the games and creative technology industries, both off and on-screen. We aim to turn the tide in an industry that historically has been associated with toxicity and homogeneity and support marginalised developers to rise as leaders and entrepreneurs who embrace empathy and inclusivity.

Where is the course taught?

The Introduction to Game Making course is taught entirely online.

What is the difference between "Cosmic" and "Crystal"?

Cosmic & Crystal are the names of our two different cohorts, but they are both the same Introduction to Game Making course. The only differences between the cohorts are the hours in which their lectures are held and the course's instructor— otherwise, they teach the same curriculum! Students enrol in one cohort or the other and cannot switch between them.

What is the time commitment for the course?

The program runs October 18 - December 10, and classes are held each Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The Cosmic cohort's lectures are taught at 6-8pm EDT/EST and the Crystal cohort's lectures are at 6-8pm BST/GMT. During the course, participants are expected to attend all lectures as well as spend 4 hours outside of lecture working on assignments, totaling a 10 hour per week time commitment.
